After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced Biology and Biochemistry at the University of the Witwatersrand, Dr Suleman earned his dental degree with numerous academic distinctions. He received awards in Anatomy, Pharmacology, Oral Pathology, Oral Surgery and Public Oral Health. His academic excellence also earned him the prestigious MLS Student Exchange Award, allowing him to study at the University of Malaysia.

Following several years in private dental practice, Dr Suleman completed specialist training in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand. His surgical training included rotations through Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. He subsequently qualified with a Master of Dentistry (MDent) in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery and Fellowship of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (FCMFOS(SA)).

Today, Dr Suleman practises full-time at Morningside Mediclinic, providing advanced surgical care across the field of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery. His particular areas of interest include orthognathic (jaw) surgery, complex dental implant rehabilitation and multidisciplinary head and neck oncology surgery.
